Any time you’re logged into an online account, there is a risk that a hacker can steal the information they need to take over the account. We’re not talking about your password or username. You know how you stay logged into Facebook, LinkedIn, or Amazon for weeks at a time? That’s because of a small piece of code that acts as a shortcut to your account. It’s very well hidden - but not well enough.
Guardio’s patent-pending technology removes the need for that piece of code, meaning that even if a hacker gets their hands on it, it’s worthless. And all this time, you won’t even notice a thing. You’ll still be logged into Facebook - you’ll just be safe now!
What accounts are protected?
Account Protection is a brand-new security feature with Guardio. It’s so new that we have a patent pending! To begin with, it will work on these sites and platforms on your computer:
- X (previously Twitter)

How do I turn Account Protection on?
As long as your account is Premium, your Account Protection is automatically turned on. To see account protection on your computer or on the app, simply open up Guardio and click on the Account Protection tab. There you’ll be able to see if your Account Protection is turned on and for which sites and platforms.
Please note: Once Guardio Account protection is activated, you’ll be automatically logged out of any of the above accounts the first time you go back. Once you log back in, you’ll be protected.
How do I turn Account Protection off?
- Go to your Guardio dashboard.
- Choose Account Protection from the menu.
- Click on the green toggles to turn off protection for any or all the accounts ousted there.
How do I know you're not using this data?
There is no data for anyone to use. Let’s look at it in a non-technical way. You’ve signed in to Facebook, and Facebook has sent a session cookie to your browser. When Account protection is turned on, Guardio takes your session cookie, encrypts the piece of code that is stored on it, and then hides that encrypted cookie somewhere unknown on your browser. This means that even if a hacker knew how to find the hidden cookie, the encrypted information they would find on it would be useless. And next time you go to open your Facebook page, Guardio reveals the cookie and decrypts the code so it can be read by Facebook.
Guardio only ever comes into contact with the token that gives access to your data. It transforms and hides that token so that no one can steal or use it. And when you need it again, Guardio gives it right back.
