How do I install the Guardio app on my mobile device?

Download Guardio from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). Then sign in with the same email, phone number, Google or Apple account you used when you paid. You don't need a computer.

Install and sign in

  1. On your phone, open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
  2. Search for Guardio and tap Get or Install.
  3. Open the Guardio app.
  4. Sign in the same way you signed up: with your email, your phone number, Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple.

If the app asks you to pay again

If you already paid, you're signed in to a different account than the one you paid for. This happens a lot, and it's easy to fix. Don't pay on that screen, because that starts a second plan.

  1. Tap the Profile tab at the bottom right.
  2. Scroll down and tap Log Out.
  3. Sign in again the way you did when you paid. If you signed up with Apple, tap Sign in with Apple.

Still seeing the pay screen? On iPhone, delete the app, install it again and sign in. Deleting the app doesn't cancel your plan. Not sure which email or sign-in you used? See Find your Guardio account.

Finish setting up

  1. Go to the Home tab.
  2. Tap Complete your setup.
  3. Tap the first step that isn't done yet and follow the instructions on screen.
  4. When your phone asks for a permission, tap Allow.
  5. Go back to Guardio for the next step.

If you don't see Complete your setup, look for setup steps at the top of the Home tab. Screens can differ a little between app versions.

Good to know: On Android, some steps can't be finished while you're on a phone call. Hang up first, then try again.

How to know you're protected

On the Home tab, each protection shows as on once it's set up. If one says Partial, a permission is still missing. Tap it and finish that step.

What your phone will ask for

  • iPhone: notifications, browsing protection (a DNS or VPN setting), the text message filter and, on iOS 18.1 or later, call protection.
  • Android: notifications, the Accessibility setting for browsing protection, and three permissions for call protection.

Setting up a family member's phone

On a Duo, Family or VIP plan, each person gets their own invite and signs in with their own email. See How do I add family members to my plan?
