How do I remove extensions from my browser?

This article will help you remove malicious browser extensions/add-ons from your browser.

Remove Extensions From Google’s Chrome Browser

To remove an unwanted extension you will need to access your extensions management screen and handle it from there:

  1. Start the Chrome browser.
  2. Click on the dotted button on the right corner of your screen, and choose settings from the menu that will pop up.

  3. On the Settings screen click on the Extensions option on the bottom left.

  4. On the Extensions Management screen, locate the relevant extension you wish to remove and click on the associated Remove button.

  5. A popup asking for your approval will appear next to the address bar. Don’t forget to approve your request and click on Remove.

  6. Done! The extension is now fully removed from your browser!

Remove Malicious Add-Ons from Microsoft Edge Browser

To remove an unwanted extension you will need to access your extensions management screen and handle it from there:

  1. Start the Edge browser.
  2. Click on the puzzle-peice-shaped button on the right of your address bar to access the extensions quick menu, and select “Manage extensions”.

  3. On the Extensions Management screen, locate the relevant extension you wish to remove, and click on the associated Remove link.

  4. A popup asking for your approval will appear next to the address bar - don’t forget to approve your request and click on Remove.

  5. Done! The extension is now fully removed from your browser!

Locating the “Dormant Colors” Malicious Extensions

  1. Visit your browser's Extensions Page to see a list of all extensions currently installed on your browser.
  2. To find relevant extensions from the “Dormant Colors” malicious campaign, you can reference some of the examples below - follow extension names as well as logo icons to find the relevant variant that might have infected your browser
  3. Locate the malicious browser extension you wish to remove and select Remove.
