Why did Guardio block this site?

Guardio blocked this page because it looks dangerous. It may be a fake sign-in page, a scam, or a site that tries to install something harmful. The page didn't open, so you didn't enter anything on it. That's Guardio doing its job.

If you trust the site, you can still open it. See Visit a site you trust below.

What to do now

  • Didn't mean to go there? Close the tab or go back. That's all.
  • Got there from a text, email or ad? Don't use that link again. If it claimed to be your bank or a store, open their app or type their address yourself.
  • Someone on the phone told you to open it? Hang up. Real companies don't send you to a website so they can fix your computer or your account. See I think I've been scammed. What should I do?

Blocked a site that looks like Guardio's own? Guardio's real sites end in guard.io or guardiosecurity.com. Other addresses that use our name can be fakes. See Is this email, text or call really from Guardio?

Why a site you trust can get blocked

Most blocks are real threats. Now and then a safe site gets caught, usually for one of these reasons:

  • The link passed through a tracking or redirect address on its way to the real site, and that address was the risky part.
  • The site is brand new, so it has no track record yet.
  • The site shares its web address or hosting with a page that was harmful.

Visit a site you trust

  1. On the block page, choose Continue anyway.
  2. The site opens. Guardio won't block it again for a few hours.

Only do this if you're sure the site is safe. To stop the block for good, see How do I allow a site that Guardio blocked?

Good to know: Allowing a site only changes things for your account. It doesn't unblock the site for other Guardio users.

If it keeps getting blocked

  • It worked, then came back later: Continue anyway only lasts a few hours. Use Always allow this site instead.
  • It's blocked when it opens in a new tab: the link may be going through a different address first. Type the site's address yourself, or open it from the company's own app.
  • Lots of sites you trust are blocked: write to us with two or three of the addresses, and say if it's your phone or computer.

Think we got it wrong?

Write to us with the site's address and a screenshot of the block page. We pass it to our security team. If the site is safe, they can unblock it for everyone, and we'll let you know by email. Site owners can do the same.
