If you received a Critical Security Alert, and Guardio notified you about a high risk scam, we recommend you take the following steps:
- Find out which accounts were affected: Go to your Browsing Activity page and click the reveal icon next to “Source”. Any account listed next to the “RAT scam detected” event may have been affected.
- Check your affected accounts: Go to any account that showed up on your Browsing Activity page and check for unauthorized transactions. If you find any suspicious activity, contact the relevant bank or credit card company immediately to dispute and cancel these transactions.
- Review your other accounts: Make sure to also check your credit cards, investment platforms, and other financial accounts. Again, if you see anything suspicious, contact the service that was affected immediately.
- Update your passwords: Reset the passwords across all your accounts, especially if you reuse the same password. Changing your password will help keep you safe and prevent further unauthorized access.
- Keep an eye out for suspicious activity: Keep any eye out on all your financial accounts and pay close attention to any phishing emails you might receive about login attempts from unfamiliar services.
