What is Email Security?

Guardio automatically detects harmful emails that make it past your spam filter, flags them in your inbox, and alerts you right away. Malicious emails are designed to steal your money, information, or identity, so you must remove them from your primary Inbox by using the Report Spam feature.

On your Guardio dashboard, you’ll find a list of all the malicious emails in your inbox here:

How do I set up Email Security?

  1. Make sure you’re Premium and have Real-Time Protection turned on.
  2. Go to the Email Security tab of your Dashboard, or on the mobile app.
  3. Click “Get Started” and follow the instructions to connect your Gmail account to Guardio.
  4. Once you’ve granted Guardio all the necessary permissions, you’re all set!

What happens when I get a malicious email?

Whenever a malicious or potentially harmful email makes it past your Gmail spam filter and into your inbox, 3 things will happen:

  1. If you’ve set up the Guardio app, you’ll get a push notification alerting you about the malicious email.
  2. Guardio will add the details of the malicious email to the Email Security page of your Dashboard.
  3. Guardio will add a label to the malicious email in your inbox that says “Flagged by Guardio” so you can easily spot it when you open your email.

How to remove malicious emails from your Inbox:

  2. Search for the sender or email subject of the malicious email you’d like to remove. You can find the email details on the Email Protection page of your Guardio Dashboard. In your inbox, you’ll see a label on the malicious email that says “Flagged by Guardio”.
  3. Important: DO NOT OPEN THE EMAIL
  4. Instead, click on the checkbox to the left of the sender.
  5. Repeat this process of checking the box for any malicious email you’d like to remove.
Once you’ve checked off all the malicious emails you’d like to remove, click Delete to remove them from your Inbox.
