Recommendations are simple actions you can take to improve your online security based on certain types of threats that Guardio detects and alerts you about in real-time.
How are recommendations different from other Guardio notifications?
When your Premium Protection is active, Guardio sits in the background and monitors your browsing activity for threats anytime you’re online. Whenever you encounter an immediate threat like a malicious website, Guardio will act in real-time to block the threat and keep you safe.
There are also other types of threats that Guardio detects and alerts you about in real-time. These threats may put you, your security, or your privacy at risk in different ways. For example, Guardio may alert you about an unmonitored email address, or a password you’re using that’s been exposed online.
Every time you get one of these real-time alerts, you’ll also get a recommendation from Guardio that lets you know how you can take action to resolve the issue and improve your overall security.
Where can I find my recommendations?
To view your recommendation, head to your Dashboard. From your Overview screen, you’ll get a snapshot of your pending recommendations. Each recommendation will tell you about the event that took place and provide you with an action to resolve the threat.
You can also access a more thorough view of your recommendations by visiting your Recommendations tab on the left sidebar. Here you’ll be able to see all of your pending recommendations in one place along with crucial information that will help you better understand how your security and/or privacy was affected.
How do I resolve pending recommendations?
To resolve your pending recommendation, click on the action that Guardio provides. Each action is different depending on the recommendation. In some cases your recommendation will lead to a Guardio feature that you haven’t fully activated yet. In other cases, your recommendation may prompt you to change a leaked password for a website or platform outside of Guardio, or report a significant security event to the relevant authority.
It’s crucial to always pay attention to Guardio alerts and keep an eye out for new recommendations. As long as your protection is active, Guardio will continue to send new security recommendations as you encounter different threats online. The sooner you take care of your recommendations, the safer you’ll be.
