How do I update my payment method?

How do I update my payment method?

You can update the card or payment account on your Guardio subscription at any time from your account settings. Here's exactly how to do it, and what to check if something looks off.

On a computer

  1. Go to guard.io and sign in.
  2. Click your initials in the upper right corner of the dashboard.
  3. Click Subscription.
  4. Next to Payment method, click Change.
  5. Click Add payment method and enter your new card details.

On the app

  1. Tap Profile in the bottom right corner.
  2. Tap Subscription.
  3. Tap Manage subscription.
  4. Next to Payment method, tap Change.

Guardio accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal.

If you saved the wrong card, follow the same steps above to update it.

If your card was declined

If you received a "We couldn't process your payment" email, updating your card using the steps above is all you need to do.

If your card was canceled or replaced

If your bank issued you a new card number because your old card was compromised, stolen, or expired, your subscription won't renew successfully until you update your payment method. Update your card as soon as possible so your protection doesn't lapse.

If the last 4 digits on your invoice don't match your card

Your bank sometimes issues a new card number behind the scenes when replacing a card, while the account itself stays the same. If the last 4 digits shown on your Guardio invoice don't match the card you have now, update your payment method using the steps above to confirm the active card on file.

If you updated your card and were charged again

Updating a card doesn't trigger a new charge. If you added a card and saw an unexpected charge, you may have re-entered payment details on a signup page rather than your account settings. Contact us at support@guard.io or through our official support line at (771) 249-8378  and a team member will review the charge.

If you want to change your plan or billing frequency

Updating your payment method keeps your current plan in place. If you'd like to switch from an annual plan to monthly, or change your plan level, see How do I change my Guardio plan?.

If you want to stop future charges instead

If you'd like to cancel your subscription entirely, see How do I cancel my Guardio subscription?.
